As a digital native, I grew up exploring the realms of Xanga and MySpace before eventually graduating to Facebook and LinkedIn. At Virginia Tech, I studied resource management with a concentration in consumer studies while also pursuing a degree in music technology. Discovering a passion in consumer policy, I was able to combine my long-lasting love of social media by publishing my undergraduate thesis entitled: "Educating Consumers through Social Media".
After graduation, I began interning with the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) in the summer of 2014 and was subsequently hired as the digital media coordinator focusing on social media. After two years at NAHB, I moved to Fishbowl Marketing to serve as a marketing consultant for 10 clients in the restaurant industry. Here I helped my clients make data-driven decisions to improve KPIs like open rates, promotion redemptions, and sales.
In May of 2017, I was offered an opportunity to work with the Goodfriend Group and Emmer Consulting to help them and their clients with communication strategy. Currently, my primary client is the Sports Fan Coalition. I develop online campaigns to advocate for issues at all levels of government, I also assist the firm in their larger communication efforts.
When I am not behind the computer screen, I like to be behind power tools. I am a woodworker specializing in pens (as much of my Instagram will show). I love spending time in the shop and creating something organic. I am also the proud father of a catahoula leopard hound, Australian shepherd mix named Harper. He dominates my Instagram, which you can see embedded below.
