Amalgamate is a composition combining MaxMSP with traditional writing styles for the marimba. The program interprets the sound waves coming from the marimba and, according to MIDI data from a foot pedal, alters them in different ways. The goal of this piece was to combine modern and traditional views on music and showcase how they do not have to be mutually exclusive.
